We unveil a special collection based on Netflix’s hit romantic comedy.
Emily in Paris is a show about the eponymous Emily Cooper, a vivacious young American woman navigating life and love in the always-glamorous city of Paris. But what it’s really about – as anyone who’s seen it will know – is the clothes. Fashion is the pièce de résistance of the hit Netflix show, Emily in Paris. Myriad memorable outfits feature in every episode, and each character’s personality is transmitted to the viewer through their individual sense of style. At the centre of all of this, of course, is Emily herself, a vivacious, young, American woman navigating life and love in the always-glamorous city of Paris. Her eclectic, vibrant taste has created more than a few pause-worthy fashion moments. Emily’s personal stye has practically become a character in and of itself over the course of two glitzy, quirky, and irresistibly charming seasons.
It’s no surprise, then, that the show’s unique approach to fashion has become one of its most beloved aspects, generating a near endless stream of commentary in magazines and on social media. With a third season imminent, we are excited to announce an exclusive collection inspired by the show, created in collaboration with Netflix.
The collection is made up of a dazzling array of styles for women and men, each based closely on one of the show’s larger-than-life characters, and taking centre stage is Emily herself. For our Emily shoe, which is available in mule, pump, flat form, we designed a distinctive bow motif – adorned with crystals – to represent our protagonist’s effervescent personality. As a design touch it’s playful, unconventional, and effortlessly considered: a true representation of our lovable heroine.
The romantic and idealistic Camille, meanwhile, inspires a crystal heart embellishment, which can be found on towering stiletto pumps and eye-catching platforms. Like Emily’s bow motif, it’s a subtle detail that echoes the character’s essential traits. Another of Emily’s closest friends and confidantes – Mindy – is perhaps best defined by her outgoing nature and love of performing. We translated this into a dazzling mule, replete with delicately embroidered organza flowers that are guaranteed to steal the limelight.
Rounding out the women’s collection is another well-known character, but this time from the world of Malone Souliers. No collection is complete without a cameo from our very own Maureen, and here she appears in Parisian splendour. Her instantly recognisable silhouette is constructed from an evening-ready black satin, that contrasts strikingly with a crystal embellished stiletto heel.
And we would be remiss if we overlooked the men of the show. Gabriel serves as the inspiration for Gab, a cleanly minimalist leather sneaker with a chunky rubber sole. It’s a laidback, casually cool choice befitting of its effortlessly well-dressed namesake. The dapper Alfie, by contrast, shares his name with a sleek lace-up derby shoe that suggests a certain sense of classicism.
