Plan Your Next Grand Entrance With The Malone Souliers Bridgerton Collection
First impressions are important. If the first season of Shondaland’s smash hit series for Netflix, Bridgerton, taught us anything, it is surely this. In the show’s frenetic first episode we watch as Daphne Bridgerton makes her grand society debut in front of the queen, glowing in a white gown, embroidered in gold with a flowing train. It’s the impact of this entrance that prompts the queen to declare her “A Diamond of the First Water” – the “incomparable” of the season. As well as a grand introduction to what will follow – an exhibition of incredible Regency outfits, reimagined in distinctive Bridgerton fashion – it’s a pivotal moment for the character. It’s when she makes her mark on the world.
For the launch of the exclusive Bridgerton Malone Souliers shoe collection, we wanted to celebrate this moment, and all moments like it, reimagining the triumph of Daphne Bridgerton’s palace debut as a feeling of confidence and self-assurance that we hope every Malone Souliers customer takes with them, every day. And so we created “The Debutante”, a new campaign that showcases the Bridgerton-inspired shoes of the collection as a series of characters, each one taking centre stage against – or rather, hitting the runway – in a succession of beautiful and thoroughly Bridgerton-worthy historic interiors, accompanied by sensational looks that offer a modern take on Regency-inspired fashion.
The collection, of course, is a drama in its own right, comprising a range of sumptuous new styles inspired by regency shoes, Bridgerton style and the personal wardrobes of the show’s central characters. For the women’s selection, we’ve reimagined iconic Malone Souliers styles, including Maureen, Frankie and Marguerite as jacquard heels and jacquard flats, in a range of lavish materials inspired by Bridgerton’s central characters. Daphne Bridgerton’s demure ensembles are referenced in pale blue with a raised floral design, while Penelope Featherington’s day-glo style inspires a series of moiré patterned flats and stilettos in yellow. Several styles come with details inspired by 1800s shoes such as the Marguerite; a pair of velvet bow heels in lace mesh. Our Sonia feather heels amp up the extravagance, boasting a dazzling electric blue plume that soars over the instep. Meanwhile, in the statement heels department, we would like to draw your attention to the Marion, which, especially for the Bridgerton collection, has been appliquéd with an opulent array of crystal-studded organza flowers, inspired by the decadent embellishments of the show’s many ball gowns.
For men, we’ve also looked to Regency era shoes, focusing the collection on dress loafers and slippers, inspired by core styles of the time. The Luca penny loafer in Burgundy calfskin offers a new spin on a timeless slip-on-loafer silhouette. But for that extra dash of Bridgerton charm, we’ve also reimagined the Alberto suede loafer in a delicate duck egg blue. Meanwhile, for more casual loafing, we’ve updated the Rene slipper in a dark floral jacquard inspired by the costumes of Anthony Bridgerton.
The collection has been designed to capture the fun and frivolity of Bridgerton itself, but, more importantly, to well and truly turn some heads. It’s an extension of a philosophy that we hold dear at Malone Souliers: with incredible shoes, you can make every day your runway, and every outing a dazzling debut.
