At Malone Souliers we believe in a conscious creativity. With this in mind, we’re always looking for ways to innovate by fusing traditional craft techniques with innovative sustainable practices. As we celebrate Earth Day 2021, we’re proud to announce a new set of environmental commitments, designed to ensure we’re producing better shoes for a better future.
Responsible leather
We are proud to be a certified member of the Leather Working Group, an international organisation made up of stakeholders across the leather supply chain, working to promote environmental best practice within leather manufacturing and related industries. We closely follow the LWG’s standards, and work with like-minded Italian suppliers who are dedicated to producing the highest quality leather with the least impact on our planet.
Conscious craft
For our SS21 collection, we produced our shoes almost entirely out of rescued archival leathers and fabrics. This inspired us to embrace a zero waste approach across our brand, using leftover materials instead of sourcing new supplies wherever possible.
Kinder packaging
We promise to deliver your shoes in packaging that won’t end up in the world’s landfills. Our shoe boxes are made from recycled cardboard, which is covered in a pure cellulose paper wrap. Both materials are fully recyclable and FSC-certified, meaning that they are sourced from responsibly managed forests that follow strict environmental regulations.
Family values
We work exclusively with small, family-run Italian factories and suppliers to make our shoes. This means we can guarantee that all employees are fairly compensated and that there is no abuse of human rights across our entire supply chain. As a result, we have identified the risk of modern slavery and human trafficking to be extremely low, but continue to be rigorous in preventing it from ever occurring by carrying out annual audits of all of our Italian warehouses.
