You might already be longing for next summer as you pack the sandals and slides away, but don’t forget that every ending is a beginning, too. This time of year is ripe with new opportunities and allows for greater experimentation when it comes to getting dressed. You can once again enjoy the heavier fabrics, richer textures, and more varied silhouettes that the warmer weather precludes. So instead of missing summer, join us in celebrating the arrival of winter boots season.
A good pair of designer boots is perhaps the best way of making a self-assured statement this season. Heightened drama, peerless craftsmanship, and effortless confidence: it all comes with the territory. It’s no wonder, then, that we always look forward to the colder months, and for AW22 we’re excited to be offering a particularly rich array of styles.
New for the season, we kick things off with the Oliana. A sculpted suede ankle boot, its close fit places emphasis on the foot’s natural form, while the flared goblet heel adds a touch of drama. The tan version suggests a rugged, Western-inflected sensibility that will pair perfectly with denim and casualwear. The black version, meanwhile, is better suited to elegant evenings out, or monochromatic dressing. And hot on the heels of the Oliana, we have the Montana Bootie. Constructed from a combination of leather and suede, it’s perched atop an elegant 100mm stiletto heel, while its open front fastens with tonal lacing: a playfully alluring game of conceal and reveal. Montana’s shape feels fresh and strikingly modern, but still has an air of classicism. Its design references a trend for lovingly crafted dress boots reminiscent of earlier years.
Moving from close-fitting and sculptural to voluminous and soft, we have a pair of styles that share a distinctive visual DNA. The Flora is a showstopping knee-high boot that uses buttery soft nappa leather, cinched in with elastic ties, to create a truly unique silhouette. Its stylistic counterpart, the Isley, proceeds in a similar fashion, with a slouchy appeal that gradually comes into sharp focus, culminating in an elegantly pointed toe. Flora and Isley represent the directional, fashion-forward end of the collection, allowing you to indulge your more avant-garde impulses.
Last but not least is the Claudia, a pared back, modern update on the enduring cowboy boot. Eschewing unnecessary detail, Claudia is made entirely from smooth black nappa, adorned only by our signature tonal strap across the toe. A sculpted top and subtle stitching on the vamp add the finishing touch to this minimalist knee-high boot.
